Buddhism for Today and Tomorrow – Summer Sanghas Retreat at Adhisthana Led by Parami and Nagabodhi

25 September – 2 October 2026, –

We warmly invite people in our Brighton Sangha to join Sthanashradha and Gambhiradhi at Adhisthana for the Summer Sanghas Retreat.

This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with other sanghas coming together from Malta, Amsterdam, York & Scarborough, Scotland, Ghent, Stroud and Essen.

In 1976 Sangharakshita gave a series of public talks at Brighton Pavillion: Buddhism for Today and Tomorrow.

Under four headings – A Method of Personal Development, A Vision of Human Existence, A Nucleus of a New Society, and A Blueprint for a New World. In these talks he shared his vision of what we have to offer the world.

The questions we might be asking ourselves about Buddhism and the talks given by Sangharakshita 50 years ago will be explored. Are those offerings still relevant? Are they still alive in our community? How might we make them, and the principles they embody, manifest in this new age?

As well as meditation, puja and general discussion, part of our exploration will include dialogue between some Order members of many years’ standing, and some younger, newer Order members.

You can book directly with Adhisthana, using this link https://adhisthana.org/retreat-calendar/events/buddhism-for-today-and-tomorrow-summer-sanghas/
