Dreaming The Path: Exploring dreams in Dharma practice

Led by Arthabandhu

Dreams are often an overlooked part of our lives. We may rarely speak about them or give them much attention. Yet within the Buddhist tradition dreams can be a powerful opportunity for spiritual growth, and even a path towards awakening.

This workshop explores how reconnecting with our dreams can open us to deeper levels of energy, creativity, and self-understanding. Many of us remember the sense of magic and wonder dreams had in childhood, but over time we can become alienated from this dimension of our experience. Through simple practices and shared exploration we can rediscover the richness that dreams offer.

During the workshop we will explore:

  • Practical ways to develop a richer dream life

  • What the Buddhist tradition has to say about dreams

  • The benefits of bringing mindfulness and loving-kindness into our dreams

  • How working with dreams can enrich our waking lives

Arthabandhu is an ordained member of the Triratna Buddhist Order and has been practising Buddhism and engaging with dreams for over 25 years. His exploration includes lucid dreaming, Buddhist Dream Yoga, and Gestalt approaches to working with dreams.

Over the years he has kept detailed dream diaries illustrated with paintings and other artwork. These are now featured in his zine Stuff of Dreams:

Arthabandhu is passionate about showing how dreams are available to us all, and how developing a relationship with them can enrich our lives.

From previous participants

“Arthabandhu’s dream workshops are a revelation… they give you practical tools to connect more deeply with your dreams and explore the workings of your own mind. Plus – they’re extremely fun!”

“Arthabandhu’s dream workshop gave me deeper insight into my dreams and their meaning. Drawing and annotating my dream helped ground my understanding and gave me a language to express deeper realisations.”
