In the Upper Shrine Room
The Work that Reconnects – Joanna Macy
The amazing work that Joanna Macy has created and facilitated over her life time (she died in her 90s last year) has helped many activists firstly in the nuclear disarmament movement and subsequently in the climate and ecological crisis movement.
She never called herself a Buddhist, however she has said she is a dharma practitioner, having travelled to Dharamsala in the 1960s where she studied under Khamtrul Rinpoche and became a life long friend with Choegyal Rinpoche, her interpreter. During that time she also met the Dalai Lama.
We will meditate and look at the value of gratitude in our practice, how it can increase our capacity to face the suffering in the world, it is the first step on the spiral of the Work that Reconnects.
Led by Santacitta and Helen Skilton
The next session will be Tuesday 9th June.
All welcome, no need to book, by donation.
