Online Meditations

If you have enjoyed meditating together with other people, but can't make the lunchtime drop-ins (or can't make it to Brighton in the morning) I often go to both of these online meditation sessions via Zoom (free, by donation):

thebuddhistcentre.com - Monday to Saturday 7.30am to 8.10am

Worthing Buddhist Group Early Morning Mediations - Wednesdays and Fridays 7am to 7.50am and then 8am to 8.30am, but join any time.

Note though that these sessions are unled - just a bell at the start and a bell at the end, so it's up to you to choose which practice you want to do and to keep an eye on the time!

A Monk's Guide to Happiness: Meditation in the 21st century - Gelong Thubten

The Breath - Vessantara (the Magician's Apprentice story, page 36 I think!)

Buddhist Meditation: Tranquillity, Imagination and Insight - Kamalashila (much more about the hindrances, antidotes, Bramah Viharas etc)

Meditation Bells

Bells for Meditation - 4 Stages (Mindfulness of Breathing) - then choose how long you want to sit for in total

Bells for Meditation - 5 Stages (Metta Bhavana) - then choose how long you want to sit for in total

Insight Timer App - but don't pay for it, stick to the free version... and probably don't go following too many weird and wonderful guided things and talks - keep it simple!

Retreats

We're just about to hold a Sangha retreat at Rivendell Retreat Centre in a couple of weeks, but this is aimed at experienced meditators in our Sangha. However, we may well run another, more open one later in the year (probably around September).

Our retreats page

In the meantime do have a look at the Introductory Meditation retreats that Rivendell run themselves (weekends, near Uckfield)...
