Learn to meditate and navigate the sea of life
Run over two Saturdays this course will introduce you to two meditation practices – the Mindfulness of Breathing and the Metta Bhavana (the development of loving kindness.
We will also explore the Worldly winds, the Buddha’s teachings on how we are tossed around by four pairs of opposites: pleasure and pain, gain and loss, praise and blame, and fame and disgrace. Whilst we can’t avoid these ups and downs in life we can learn to recognize them and respond with awareness, kindness and equanimity, finding a stopping point and place of rest from these winds.
