Retreats

A retreat is an ideal situation in which to take a fresh look at yourself and your life. You can learn to meditate, or take your meditation further with the help of experienced teachers. This can help you to develop clarity, confidence, positive emotion even a deep insight into yourself. It is an ideal situation in which you can grow.

A retreat gives us a chance to step back, live more simply for a time, and clarify our direction in life. Meditation, study, discussion, reflection, companionship, silence, free time, sharing vegetarian food, walking meditations, the mythic context, and creative ritual can all appear on a retreat depending on its theme. By spending time away from our usual habits and commitments, we can regenerate ourselves.

Our nearest, local Retreat Centre is a few miles north of Uckfield. Rivendell Retreat Centre lies deep in the Sussex countryside on the edge of the Ashdown Forest. Set amongst spacious, wooded gardens it provides a haven of peace and beauty. If you would like to go on retreat further afield look on our FWBO links page under Retreat Centres.
