Brighton Festival

Every year for the month of May, the City of Brighton holds an Arts Festival. Amongst the many local performances of theatre, opera, dance, poetry, classical music, world music, jazz, workshops, audiences with key literary figures, street theatre, and fringe events, hundreds of artists open their houses to the public. The Buddhist Centre always participates in the Festival, holding exhibitions and presenting performances.

Two Worlds: the real, the imagined

Are we so stuck in the mundane that we can't see another world all around us? Local author Sebastian Beaumont's first mainstream novel, Thirteen, explores levels of 'reality' and looks at how psychological reality can sometimes be more real than bricks and mortar. His second novel, The Juggler, which will be published later this year, explores how spiritual reality can also have a structure, logic and momentum of its own. Tonight he reads from, and discusses, his work.
