Tara Day Festival

8 March 2026, 10:30 am – 2:00 pm

(with the Going for Refuge and Prostration Practice for GfR Mitras and Order Members from 9.30am).

On Sunday 9th March, this time last year, we consecrated the beautiful Green Tara Rupa, sourced with a bequest from our friend Nick Diggins. Green Tara has graced us with her presence in the Centre and in our hearts since then.

To celebrate and commemorate her arrival in our midst we invite you to a special festival, Tara Day.

We will start the day with a Prostration Practice for Order Members and GfR mitras at 9.30am, led by Sthanashraddha.

The doors will open to the Sangha  at 10.30am.

At 11am we will gather in the top shrine room and meditate together. Gambhiradhi will then lead a special Green Tara and the Six Elements Puja. This is only practised on special occasions and it’s a long one, so bring whatever you need to make yourself comfortable. We also invite you to bring flowers – just the one, or many, to scatter at Green Tara’s feet on the shrine.

We will have a buffet lunch together after the puja concludes. Please bring offerings of vegetarian / vegan food for the table. Please label anything vegan or gluten-free.

After lunch we will clear up and depart mid-afternoon, between 2 and 3pm.

Do come along.

All welcome, no need to book, by donation.
