Sangha Nights

The Sangha, meaning Spiritual Community, is one of the Three Jewels, the three most precious things for a Buddhist. Sangha night at the Brighton Buddhist Centre takes place every Tuesday from 7.30pm - 9.45pm and is a chance for the whole community to get together and practise. It is usually a delightful opportunity to meet and practise with a wide range of people, from those quite new to the Dharma to those who have been practising for many many years.

The evening usually begins with a period of meditation. Following this there is often a short talk on one of the fundamental teachings of the Buddha, with space for questions and discussion. The evening generally concludes with some devotional practice, after which there is time for tea-drinking and chatting downstairs. Every few weeks we have a Practice Night, which involves more meditation and devotional practice. And around the three main Buddhist Festivals of the year (Buddha Day, Dharma Day and Sangha Day) Sangha Night is given over to a more festive and celebratory atmosphere.
